Thank you for Adopting me

27 January 2017

Chelsea pupil Colby Smith adopted a penguin from SANCCOB. Penguin number AP 709 was an abandoned chick, weighing 1.14 kg and rescued on 2 November 2016 at Stony Point.

Without SANCCOB many thousands of African penguins and other seabirds would die every year. While it's difficult to imagine a world without penguins and other seabirds, the truth is that time is running out for us as we struggle to beat the effects of climate change, over-fishing, oiling, predation and human disturbance.

Visit the webpage to also adopt a penguin of your own – or as a gift for a friend or family member. Your gift will be ‘matched’ by the Blue Fund – and help cover the cost of rearing ‘your’ penguin for release back into the wild.
